The Department of Law was established in the year, 2018, in order to cater to the growing deDepartment of Law at Dr.Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya (U.P) is the tested legal institution of par excellence. Since itsinception in 2018 under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prof. Manoj Dixit and the untiring efforts of the former Coordinator Dr. Tribhuvan Shukla. The department was inaugurated by hon'ble Justice Sunita Agrwal H.C. of Allahabad for providinglegal education reforms in Uttar Pradesh.

The department offers L.L.M. program of 02 years duration. It has an intake of 60 students. Skilled and dedicated faculties are the hallmarks of the department. The department organized Constitution Day on November 26, 2020. On this occasion the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ravi Shanker Singh released a book entitled “Bharat Mein Nayayik Punarvilokan ka Siddhant” authored by Dr. A.K Rai. A webinar was also organized on “Fundamental Principles of Indian Constitution” with eminent speakers like Hon'ble Justice P. K. Srivastava(Retd.), Dr. Ashok Kumar Rai and Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh. On the occasion of World Human Rights Day, adiscussion took place in which Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Ravi Shankar Singh, Dr. Tribhuvan Shukla, Dr. Ashok Kumar Rai and Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh and other eminent personalities actively participated. The faculty members and students actively participated in covid vaccination awareness program during pandemic as per the direction given by the State Government.

The Department of Law has an established “Legal Aid Services Clinic”. The Legal Aid Services Clinic organizes a whole gamut of legal aid programs. In fact, the students of our department have undergone training for paralegal volunteers under aegis of the National Legal Services Authority.The students have also been participating in client counseling and other literary activities in legal literacy awareness camp on national legal services dayin reference to “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
